on 10th april 10, i attended my friend, irma's wedding @ dewan perdana felda.. i asked her siapa buat pelamin dia.. and she said onn aziz yg buat coz rupanya onn ni mmg buat tuk felda's weddings eh. hihi mana la i tau kan.. so i pun terus la search onn aziz nk tgk gmbr2 pelamin dia yg lain.. byk gak yg cantik2.. tp ada 2 particular ones yg sgt2 cantik to me..

and tis is d 2nd one tat i like.. wat i like about tis is the flower box tu.. yg box lain tu da biasa tgk da kan.. but tat flower box tu yg cam lain ckit.. wats nice about tis is kalau kita amik gmbr eye level pun, dlm gmbr still nmpk bunga2 tu.. not juz d drapes or d wall or d carpet, etc.. :)

i've actually bought this material way back in oct/nov kut, hajat di hati nk hntr to my tailor to make my white wedding gown.. pastu tiba2 tukar plan, buat baju dgn arma pulak hehehe.. so kain ni da tak tau nk buat apa.. sape2 yg minat tu, sila la email me k..

~ make up ~

wahh rajinnya berblogging mlm ni.. ;)

i just noticed rupanya i takde pun blog about make up sgt kan.. i mentioned some tuk nikah, but for reception langsung tak sebut hihi.. for both my receptions, m using the same MUA for my nikah.. my MUA is kak zai.. she's my friend who is also a full-time MUA.. and she used to work for saidatulnisa, before kak liza lg.. so masa i nk cari MUA, of course i tny dia dulu la kan.. i go straight to her la, coz we knw each other.. kalau tak mesti kena go thru butik saidatulnisa, maknanya it wud be more than rm500 per event la kan.. same price as kak liza kut.. hihihi.. ye, i ngelat.. i know.. :P

so, attached is hasil kerja tgn kak zai for all my 3 events - nikah, reception and bertandang..

m still all about weddings even tho da bergelar puan.. hihi.. maybe if everybody tat i knw da kawin baru i stop semua benda2 kawin ni kut.. *wink*

tis time i wanna talk about colour palette for weddings.. meaning, the colour we'd like to choose for our nikah and receptions.. wat colour suits this colour, wat colour suits tat colour.. so sites like these can really help you visualise yr wedding dream wedding better.. :)

for my nikah, my palette was hot/shocking pink + light pink + silver..

for my reception, palette chosen was white + lavender + shades of purples + silver..

for bertandang, palette was more simple, red red + silver..

~ spaghetti aglio olio with mushrooms ~

hi everyone! saje nk share recipe.. hihi.. a very simple pasta.. actually i have button mushrooms lebih from my spaghetti sauce i cooked last few days.. pastu fikir2 nk buat apa dgn extra mushrooms ni.. so i figured y not i juz stir fry em and have it with spaghetti.. 

i used angle hair spaghetti coz they cook very fast n they're not too rich gak.. tats y spaghetti nmpk kurus ya.. hihihi.. recipe ni tuk sorang je tau coz i was experimenting jer.. ajoy wanted to eat something else.. ok here's d recipe:

1 portion of spaghetti - boil first

2 cloves of garlic - chopped

1 long cili padi - chopped

2 button mushrooms (canned) - sliced

1 white button mushrooms (fresh) - sliced

chicken cube/stock (ckit jer)

black pepper
salt (if necessary)

in a heated pan, stir fry the garlic and cili padi.. when it turns slightly brown, put in the chicken cube (i use a small portion jer, secukup rasa) and stir fry lg. pastu put in the mushrooms and dash some black peppers in.. when the garlic da turn almost brown, put in the spaghetti, gaul and done! hihi..

original recipe is to use chili flakes or dried chilies.. tp i dont hv those, so i used chili padi jer, sedap jerrrr... hehe.. and we can always add in prawns, mussels, capsicum and anything we want.. and if we have olive oil, better to substitute olive oil with cooking oil.. happy trying! :)

p/s: i checked recipes from the internet, most of them will sprinkle some parsley flakes & dash some oregano too.. i wanted to do td tp terlupa.. so, put tat in mind when u're preparing yr olio k.. :)

~ tofu ~

my body is like tofu.. like jell-o.. well, anything tat wobbles.. there are two sides of the coin with my body now.. yes, i've trimmed down quite a lot.. my body is significantly trimmed. ajoy also said my butt is so much smaller now. yeayyyy!!!! of course, i'd want it to go down about 1-2 inches more.. hihi.. 

however, i noticed lately that my body parts are wobbling! specifically my thighs n buttocks. bout 4-5 yrs ago, i'd say i was quite toned.. i dont even remember being this lembikkkkk.. eewwww geli la.. 

all these while i went to the gym only to lose the weight and trim down.. now, i have 3 goals ~ lose 2 more kilos, trim bout 1-2 inches more AND tone up!! coz if m not toned, lagi laaa takut nk pregnant coz nanti after giving birth lg susah nk get back into shape if we're toned and taut.. yikes!

but now m thinking, wat else can i do ek.. aerobics alone cannot help tone up ke.. but then again, i've only started going for almost 3 mths.. so cannot la expect miracles kan.. baby steps, aina.. baby steps.. *smiles*

~ kepanasan ~

it's getting hot in here.. i take off all my clothes... oopss.. takde la.. hehehe..

it's getting hot in my hse coz there's no electricity.. i was getting ready to cook my brunch (bgn lambat) and then suddenly the tv went off. at first i thought it was astro's reception.. but then lama2 i noticed the fan was getting slower and slower.. checked everything, laaaaaa no electricity????? haiyaaaaa...

so i thought it was juz my hse.. rupanyer the whole building.. i went down nk g mgmt office to ask wats going on.. skali office da tutup.. at 12 noon??? awalnya! so i went to the grocery store instead coz kena beli bawang ckit.. borak2 with the storekeeper, he suggested me to ask the TNB guys who were working on the issue masa tu.. i pegi la tny, pakcik TNB tu said around 1pm - 2pm baru ada letrik balik..

as it is the weather now mmg sgt panas.. tambah pulak my hse is end lot, lg la terus dpt direct heat.. and then now takde letrik lagi lagi lagi laaa panasssss... m sweating like anything now.. :(

oh ya, balik pd citer masak.. so now takde letrik caner nk masak kan.. coz we dont hv a kitchen yet, we only hv multi-cooker whc depends solely on electricity.. nk x nk, simpan everything n call mcD la.. apa lagi.. wanted to call pizza hut, but in my fridge ada lg pizza leftovers.. so call mcD je la.. i had fillet o fish td.. :)

it is 5 mins to 2pm now.. i really hope the TNB pakcik tu ckp betul la.. tak tahan da ni..

~ wedding presents ~

hello.. like i mentioned in my previous entry, i've been quite bz lately.. bukan la bz buat benda gempak2 ke apa.. tp bz kemas rumah, to be precise, kemas our storeroom yg da penuh sgt2 dgn brg2 smpi kalau masuk store tu, muat2 je tuk kitaorg masuk, cari brg and then turn back.. 

reason to kemas is mmg i da tak tahan sgt dgn kesemakan store itu.. pening kepala tgk, sepah bebenor.. and another reason is to store all our wedding presents yg da di susun dgn cantik kat living room kitaorg.. but then smpi bila nk letak situ kan? so, at last, a week after our wedding, we managed to clean up the store room and managed to keep all the wedding presents in it too! :)

so hadiah apa yg kitaorg dpt ek? some i igt sape bagi, but most of it da tak igt da coz most of it are from our parents' friends.. hihi.. so these are wat we've received:

~ 4 photo albums -1 from my bff and 1 from wida, lg 2 tak igt sape bg..

~ 3 bedsheets - tak yah beli da! tq!

~ 2 bedsheets + quilt - 1 is from my MIL

~ 1 set ikea lace curtain - from zira

~ 2 toasters - tak yah beli da! tq!

~ wedding guest attire ~

i've been meaning to write this topic for a long time, but have been quite tied up with a few stuff at home..

tis entry is more directed towards the ladies.. and i will slot in a lil bit for the guys.. u see for guys mmg senang sgt to decide what to wear to a wedding.. but for us girls, mmg boleh pening kepala jugak nk decide nk pakai apa..

i will start with what NOT to wear. this, is something i've seen many2 times over a couple of years.. to me, sgt2 tak sopan.. i am no fashion expert, in fact m so far from that.. but i do know a thing or two.. 

imho, wearing pants, esp jeans to a wedding is a huge NO NO NO!! pki dgn kebaya pun tak ok, apa lagi la kalau pki dgn tshirt or shirt or watever blouse.. sgt tak sopan ok. i mean, kita (malays) ni bukan takde baju kurung, mustahil takde baju kurung.. pakai je la baju kurung, bukan lama pun.. some chinese pun bole pakai kebaya/baju kurung to majlis kawin melayu, so apa alasan kita yg melayu ni??? sgt2 tak respect majlis org la kalau pakai seluar.. to me, it will just show wat kind of didikan u receive while growing up.. m sure yr mother taught u to be decent when attending weddings kan.. 

in this, case, melainkan u turned up with uniform keje or baju keje yg formal tu, mmg nmpk sgt u are working then it is acceptable.. tp kalau pki jeans n blouse cantik2 tu nmpk sgt la takde alasan lain.. byk lg time korang nk tunjuk korang punyer going out style.. but at weddings, wat u wear shows how u've been brought up.. sorry la kalau ada yg terasa.. tp mmg pantang tul tgk org pakai seluar ni.. and wat's worst, not only these ppl wear pants to weddings yg kat rumah2 tu, but ada jugak yg pakai to formal wedding dinner.. pakai jeans lagi. masyaAllah.. sabar je la aku..

for weddings yg kat rumah, usually d majlis is from 12 noon - 4 pm, we can always wear any kurung or kebaya or kurung modern.. kalau nk liplap sikit pun ok but cannot la terlalu liplap2 tu.. kang org kata ngalahkan pengantin pulak kan.. nk pki simple cotton kurung pun ok jer coz tghari kan.. 

as for formal weddings (usu held at hotels or halls), nak liplap bole jer.. as long as u dont wear the same colour as the bride, then glitters should be ok.. and the best is to team up yr attire with clutch or small handbag.. handbag besar2 kita selalu bwk g jalan2 or keje tu i think we should keep it for the nite.. tak brp sesuai hihi.. as for those who wants to wear dress to a formal wedding, try to avoid short dresses and opt for floor length dresses.. unless it is a garden wedding (dlm garden betul) or beach wedding or semi-formal wedding, then bole la pki tea length or knee length dresses. tp for the malays tu, kalau nk pki dresses, try wearing yg cover sikit at the chest & arms area.. tak manis la terdedah sana sini sdgkan da terang benderang ko tu melayu to the core.. other races pun lg sopan dr melayu2 yg canie most of the time.. hihihi peace!

for the men, when attending formal weddings, u can never go wrong by wearing baju melayu with samping.. songkok can be optional.. esp if the wedding card says kebangsaan/semi-formal.. there is some confusion here for the guys.. u can always wear a suit (jacket + slack + shirt) if u want to.. ties and jacket are optional.. tp if the card says formal/kebangsaan, the best is to wear a tie and the jacket as well.. if u're a lil older, a batik shirt can nvr go wrong for these occasions.. actually, wearing jeans for formal weddings should be avoided.. unless mmg jenis takde langsung slack la, but can always wear baju melayu.. and bila amik gmbr kan, nmpk cantik jer if guest laki kita pakai baju melayu siap samping semua.. :) and kalau kenduri kat rumah, mmg most guys pakai jeans pun.. tats ok.. as for the top, shirt or collared tshirt or round neck pun ok jer.. cuma i wont like it if ajoy wears round neck to a wedding if he's with me..

as for colour.. i read a few websites on this and fortunately it seems like m on the right track.. for formal weddings, zmn skrg ni ramai pengantin pakai white (like me! hihi).. so for this kinda weddings, western's guide for guests' attire is NOT to wear all white.. unless the pengantin requests the guests to wear white as well (will be mentioned in the card if they do).. but if on the card takde request camtu, kalau bole, try not to wear all white.. if u wanna wear white kebaya top, match la dgn kain kaler apa2.. cantik apa.. coz what these websites mentioned was guests shouldnt try to take the thunder away from the pengantin.. whc is true.. 

if however the pengantin pakai colour2 lain, and u wanna wear white u can go ahead altho wearing white is still unadvisable.. and if we terpakai colour sama dgn pengantin (pink/blue/purple/etc) tu nak buat caner kan.. unless we deliberately did tat even tho da tau pengantin nk pki apa la.. coz nape nk pki kaler sama dgn pengantin eh? i dont get tat.. to me, if we know wat colour the pengantin is gonna wear, i will definitely try to avoid wearing the same colour.. bukan apa, some pengantin prefer baju yg sangat2 simple.. yg bezakan diaorg is maybe d make up and accessories.. other than tat, mmg simple.. and wat if baju kita lg berkilat or liplap dr pengantin? kan da nmpk over da tu.. hehehe.. 

ok.. tis is all tat i've been wanting to say about wedding guest attire.. so igt ladies, plssss.. no jeans or pants plssss... ok.. bye.. :)

~ ten for ten weddings : part 2 : irma & afie ~

since pegi wedding ayie pun da kul 3pm kan, we arrived home nearly 5pm kut.. biasa la kan laki kalau g wedding his friends mesti nk lepak lama2 punyer.. hihihi..

anyways, guest arrival time for irma's wedding starts at 745pm.. meaning have to leave s.alam latest by 7pm.. meaning have to get ready latest by 6pm.. pastu ajoy kata we may have to drop by sunway to drop something to his uncle.. so kena la start siap awal lg kan.. aiyoh not enough time to rest pun.. da la tido 3 hours je td.. 

remember baju melayu ajoy yg mcm ada kesan softlan tat i hung pagi2 tu? so balik tu dpt rest skjp and then kena gosok baju ajoy pulak.. thing is, masa rehat2 tu, tak sedar tat time flew so fast, tau2 da 530pm da.. haiyaaa... kelam kabut la apa lagi.. hihihihi.. because of time constraints bcoz baju melayu tu susah giler nk gosok, degil sungguh komot2 dia tu, and also i myself nk kena bersiap (make up kan lama :P), ajoy tolong gosokkan his own samping and also tolong buatkan milo for me so tat i wont hv gastric later.. tq love!! *hugz*

i think last2 kuar rumah pun at 730pm kut.. tp coz now kan ada mcm2 highway, so we took nkve and duke.. smpi awal gak.. around 8pm kut.. smpi2 terus jumpa nini & wida at the parking lot.. :) eh lupa nk mention, irma's wedding was held at dewan perdana felda, kl.. mesti korang da imagine d grandness of d wedding kan.. ye, sgt2 grand ye.. meletop!! :)

anyway, masa smpi tu, we went straight to the ballroom, tak register pun hehe.. bukan tak nak register, but coz we didnt see the registration counter.. ramai sgt org kut kat situ.. tats y tak nmpk kut hehe.. ushers pun cuma tny kitaorg kwn sape jer, tak usher pulak kitaorg ke tempat registration.. so bila smpi kat ballroom's door kan, d usher kat situ tny no meja, pastu semua muka blank.. hahaha! then he said oh tak register lg ke.. kena register dulu, dptkan no meja..

so terpaksa la kitaorg jln balik to where we came from.. tu pun cari meja registration tak jumpa gak mula2.. and there was a huge board with table no and names under every table.. tak tau la caner but i immediately saw our names.. table 70.. mak aihhh mcm jauh je bunyi nyer.. hihi.. and then we went to the reg tables, i thought nk kena sign guest books ke, sign apa2 ke, rupanyer just to get the table no tag..

then we went back to the ballroom.. eh now it occured to me masa 1st time smpi d hall tak perasan pulak d pelamin, maybe coz da blur kut.. hikk.. so when we entered d first thing we saw of course la pelamin... cantik pelamin dia.. simple and nice.. ala2 arma punye gak.. and in my heart i was thinking, nasib baik la kitaorg tukar concept for my wedding kalau tak da mcm lebih kurang da pelamin irma and mine.. hahahaha! agak kelakar la kan kalau g wedding last week, canie pelamin dia, tis week pun lebih kurang jer.. mcm sama supplier jer.. hehe.. tp irma punyer ni bukan arma punyer.. tak tau dia buat dgn sape..

and of course la d hall sgt2 la besar kan.. if m not mistaken can fit about 1000 pax kut.. but irma punyer kalau betul la my calculation, is about 800 pax.. just nice, tak sempit sgt.. our table jauh gak from d pelamin.. nmpk bhgn tepi pelamin jer.. kalau from my seat, bole nmpk bhgn tepi muka afie jer.. hehehe.. and then wida told me, irma mmg nk letak kitaorg jauh, sbb takut tergelak tgk muka kitaorg.. tak leh nk control ayu.. hahahahahha! tats irma, very funny girl.. ni gmbr irma masa dia tunang.. saje amik gmbr tak nmpk sgt muka coz i dont know if she's ok with me putting up her pics here.. hehe.. yg ni i copy paste from her fb.. :P

bila smpi awal ni biasa la kan, bosan tunggu, so byk gak amik gmbr.. i really wanted to take a photo of her pelamin tp malu la nk g depan coz nk kena lalu banyak meja.. so i took from tepi jer la.. ni la hasil dia.. tp nmpk gak pelamin tu kan? cantik kan? irma punyer theme colour pun lebih kurang dgn mine whc is purple and silver, whilst mine was purple and white, kebetulan sgt2 ni hehehe.. so d pelamin pun ada purple2 gak.. nasib baik tis pelamin uses a diff shade of purple kalau tak samaaa je mine n hers boring gak nanti kan hahahaha.. :)

irma & afie marched in around 9 pm plus.. tak igt wat time.. lama jugak la tggu tp takpe, raja sehari kan, so kena la tggu hihihi.. they had live feed kat majlis tu.. so d live feed showed afie drove a white vw eos and parked kat dpn hall.. wahhhh style gitu kan.. hehehe.. pastu ada selawat before they walked in, tp live feed tak tunjuk pulak.. and then after selawat, they marched into the hall, accompanied by a very famous malaysian saxofonist Jari.. yeeee Jari ok! walauwehhh hehehe.. he played lagu kenny g yg fofular tu.. and when they entered d hall kan, kitaorg semua rasa cam nk nangis.. terharu coz irma caaaannnnnttteeeekkkkkkk sgt2!!!!! tp takde gmbr la, i dont even knw y i didnt take any photos of them whenever they're walking.. terpaku kut.. hahahah!

irma told me she designed her own baju.. cantik sgt.. irma ni da la sgt2 slim and she has very2 nice figure and dia pun mmg sgt cantik, tgk gmbr td pun tau dia cantik sgt kan.. to me, she has d classic malay beauty look.. mcm org dulu2 punyer cantik tu.. to me, tu la kecantikan perempuan melayu yg sebenar.. bukan yg mix2 punyer (kutuk diri sendiri gak nih) hihihi.. and her tiara, omg, bole tak nk ckp lg sekali, omg, cantik sgt2!! she really looks like a ratu.. to me, her tiara and hairstyle accomplished d whole look.. good job darling!!

irma's wedding concept is very different from mine.. mine mmg simple & short but sweet ecehhh.. irma punyer is the typical malay wedding yg org buat kat hotel or halls, with hints of englishness.. when i say typical i dont mean it is a bad thing ya.. jgn salah fhm pulak.. wat i meant is ada merenjis2, high table semua tu.. meaning d wedding sgt la grand.. :)

mcm biasa bila da naik pelamin, after tat got merenjis2 semua tu.. if m not mistaken ada about 5 VIP couples kut yg merenjis, including senator dato' maznah mazlan.. but i wasnt sure brp ramai yg merenjis coz sebok amik gmbr la, borak la, tak tgk pun org merenjis hihi.. ajoy & i mmg tak suka merenjis2 ni.. tats y our weddings takde merenjis2..

after merenjis, the vips walked to d high table followed by d pengantin accompanied by d song 'tonight, i celebrate my love for you' performed by the band.. tp syg, they couldnt remember the lyrics, so sgt2 spoil.. to me la.. maybe org lain tak kisah hehe.. masa tu da nearly 10pm kut.. igtkan da bole makan da coz da lapar giler da time tu, my tummy pun da mula bloated.. tp kena tgk montaj dulu da.. hehehe.. nasib baik montajnya best, esp part 1 malaysia tu.. :D so i think around 10pm kitaorg dpt mkn.. yeay!!! here's d menu for d nite:

even though d menu byk sama dgn ptg td punyer menu, but of course d taste is different.. and of all d lauks, paling best is lauk 'isi ikan harum wangi bunga kantan'.. mmg wangi and sgt3 sedap kali 100! siap tambah ikan lg.. da la i bukan jenis tmbh mkn.. :P while enjoying the food, mcm my wedding gak, we were serenaded by the band.. most of the songs sama dgn songs masa my wedding.. hihihi.. lagu2 standard tuk weddings kut.. 

d ikan is yg betul2 plg bwh.. 

m actually trying to think of wat happens next tp tak brp igt la.. ada speech by her siblings, her uncle, and performance by nash, penyanyi rock tu.. apa lagi eh.. alamak seriously tak igt, sibuk borak2 kut hihihihi.. but wat i know is d wedding ended around 1130pm.. time ni tak sabar2 nk amik gmbr with irma n afie smpi terlupa nk bg hp kat photog tuk tlg amik.. aisehhh.. 

we finally reached home a lil after midnite.. tu pun da ngantuk giler2 da coz tak cukup tido kan.. but then smpi rumah tak tido gak.. tido kul 430am la pulak.. eh, da citer lain.. haha.. 

ok, all in all, irma's wedding was beautiful, fabulous n majestic.. did i mentioned her veil sgt2 panjang?? tat added to d dramatic effect every time they march ke mana2.. so irma, tq so much for inviting us to your beautiful wedding.. :)
